At Kenora Catholic, we recognize that we live, learn and work on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe and Métis peoples and within Treaty #3.
We believe it is important for students to develop an understanding and appreciation of the cultures, traditions, histories and languages of Indigenous Peoples. Through meaningful learning opportunities, community partnerships and relationships with area Elders and Knowledge Keepers, Indigenous perspectives, teachings and ways of knowing are shared with students and staff across our family of schools.
We are proud to offer Ojibway language (Anishinaabemowin) learning at St. Louis Living Arts School, St. John Paul II School and St. Thomas Aquinas High School. We believe Anishinaabemowin is a vital part of culture and identity and are committed to supporting opportunities for the language to be learned, celebrated and carried forward by future generations.
