The Kenora Catholic District School Board is proud to be compliant with the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation and today launched its Commercial Email and Text Alert subscription website. Parents can use the website to sign up to receive commercial emails and text alerts from their child's school and the board. The website is quick and easy to use, and the link is located on the KCDSB website and all school websites.
Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) prevents schools and the board from sending emails of a commercial nature without consent. Commercial email messages may include information about school fundraisers, bake sales, lunch programs, book sales, field trips, yearbook sales, musical productions, sporting events, travel opportunities and so much more. Basically, any email or text that encourages the recipient to participate in a commercial activity.
The KCDSB and its schools want to continue to stay connected with families and keep them up-to-date and informed about the latest school and board information and events, and email is often the best way to stay connected. In order to do that we are asking all of our KCDSB families to sign up for commercial emails and text alerts.
