The Kenora Catholic District School Board is proud to announce that our 2016 St. Thomas Aquinas High School Valedictorians, Elyssa Woodbeck and Daniel Phillipow, played a feature role in a recently released Ministry of Education TV commercial. In addition, a few members of the high school's graduation audience are also profiled in the videos.

The Ministry's commercials started airing across Ontario on September 7th and are designed to raise awareness about Ontario's publicly funded education system and how it's giving students the skills and knowledge they need to reach their full potential.

"It was really exciting to have the Ministry of Education hire a local videographer (Upriver Media Inc.) to film our St. Thomas Aquinas High School graduation celebration for their television commercials," says Phyllis Eikre, Director of Education. "It's wonderful for our students and community to be profiled across the province in this campaign."

The content for the commercials are comprised entirely of footage showing real Ontario students. Almost all footage was sourced through Ontario's school boards including the Kenora Catholic District School Board.
