Today the Ontario Catholic School Trustees' Association released a media release that a new three year collective agreement has been ratified with the Ontario English Catholic Teachers' Association.

"We are pleased that the Ontario Catholic School Trustees' Association and the Ontario English Catholic Teachers' Association have ratified the provincial level agreement", says Phyllis Eikre, Director of Education. "On behalf of the Kenora Catholic District School Board we would like to extend our gratitude to all those who worked hard to make this agreement a reality for Catholic school boards across the province. We now look forward to the local negotiation process that can only mean continued stability and success for our students."

Union President Dean Demers comments, "we are very happy to achieve this first step in the bargaining process and will continue to keep the best interests of our students at the forefront of our discussions while recognizing the professional integrity of our teachers. We continue to have a productive working relationship with the Board and we are looking forward to beginning discussions and negotiations at the local level."

The local negotiation process between the Kenora Catholic District School Board and the Ontario English Catholic Teachers' Association is set to begin in November.
