The Kenora Catholic District School Board would like to extend congratulations to Lori Bazelo who has recently accepted the position of Vice Principal at Pope John Paul II School. Lori will be taking the place of Jackie Robinson who has accepted a three year secondment with the Literacy and Numeracy Secretariat as a Student Achievement Officer with the Ministry of Education.

"I am really excited to return to Pope John Paul II school as the Vice Principal," says Lori. "In many ways it feels like coming home. My daughter attended school here and I have worked as a classroom teacher at Pope John Paul II school since the school opened in 2008 until 2013 when I accepted the role of Numeracy Facilitator. The PJP team has
created a caring and accepting school community and they are dedicated to the children and their families and passionate about student achievement. I'm proud to be part of this school community again."

"Lori will be a great fit as Vice Principal at Pope John Paul II school and has an established rapport and strong ties with this school," says Phyllis Eikre, Director of Education. "These relationships will be an asset to her as the Vice Principal. She is a home-grown administrator and has a long history of dedication, loyalty and passion for Catholic education and will bring a system level perspective to the role. She has a love for education, a passion for numeracy and is a nurturing and caring educator. We are proud to welcome her to this role and know that she will continue to bring a strong focus to academics and will uphold a high standard of Catholic leadership at Pope John Paul II school."

Lori has worked for the Kenora Catholic District School Board for over 18 years as a classroom teacher, Teacher-in-Charge and Numeracy Facilitator. She brings with her enthusiasm, excellence and system leadership experience. She continues to be an active member of the Pope John Paul II school community and a dedicated and caring influence with the students. She's been a volunteer for the past 5 years as the lead of the after school cross-country ski club. She has a Bachelor of Education from the University of Manitoba, Math Specialist AQ qualifications and Religious Education qualifications.
