On the morning of September 29th, St. Thomas Aquinas High School's FNMI Youth Council organized a Stop 4 Truth Flash Mob in downtown Kenora to commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The initiative, conceived by the students, called on citizens and business owners to join them at the intersection of Matheson Street South and First Street South.

Wearing orange as a symbol of unity, participants paused their daily activities to demonstrate respect, unity, and healing in the journey toward Truth and Reconciliation. The Flash Mob unfolded at the designated intersection, leaving a powerful impression on the community and showcasing the students' commitment to fostering understanding and empathy. St. Thomas Aquinas High School's FNMI Youth Council successfully created a poignant moment that resonated with the broader message of building a future rooted in respect for all.

Across the campus all KCDSB schools participated in various activities commemorating The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. While the official day falls on Saturday, September 30, KCDSB took the opportunity on Friday to wear orange shirts and reflect on reconciliation as a school community.

The day began with a song and prayer led by Elder Terry Skead which was live streamed across the system.
