The incoming Board of Trustees spent the day together at their Retreat and Onboarding session on Saturday, October 29. At the Retreat, Trustees learned about the Kenora Catholic District School Board, its family of schools, unique identity and culture, budget and finance, student success and the important governance role of Trustees.

They also attended mass at the Notre Dame du Portage Church, receiving a blessing and commissioning from Father Rudy Manaloto. The Trustees pledged to use their God-given talents as stewards for the mission of Catholic education, advocate for faithfulness to the Catholic teachings and to collaborate with the leadership of the Kenora Catholic District School Board to nurture a sense of shared mission, trusting in the grace of God.

Father Rudy asked for God to bless the new Trustees with courage, wisdom, wonder, and strength as they serve in their new role and requested that the community support them in their service and work together to build vibrant communities of faith.

Teresa Gallik, Paul Landry and Jeffrey White will return for another term. At the same time, Angela Bishop, Derek Favreau, Marie Lundin and Lorne Temple will join the Boardroom table as new Catholic School Trustees.

The new Board will be sworn in at the Inaugural Board Meeting on November 15, 2022, where they will receive their commissioning ceremony led by Director Nicole Kurtz.

The new term of office is from November 15, 2022, to November 14, 2026.
