ake of the Woods Community FoundationThe Kenora Catholic District School Board would like to extend sincere gratitude to the Lake of the Woods Community Foundation and its donors.

Last evening at the Foundation's Canada 150 Fall Granting Ceremony St. Louis School and Pope John Paul II School received generous grants.

Pope John Paul II School received $4,000 to assist the school with costs to provide nutritious breakfasts, lunches and snacks to children. Pope John Paul II School ambassadors, Jack, Nash and Julia, attended the ceremony to accept the grants.

St. Louis School received $4,800 from the Community Needs Endowment Fund. The grant will assist with costs to facilitate the running of an Arts Program to reach students and help them both socially and academically. St. Louis School uses arts as a support toward positive mental health for students.

Thank you to the Lake of the Woods Community Foundation, and donors Andrew and Lisa Paterson Family Fund and Jim and Leney Richardson. The grants will greatly benefit the schools and students.

The Kenora Catholic District School Board gratefully acknowledges the financial support of The Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation, which is a public foundation serving the people of Kenora, Sioux Narrows/Nester Falls, Minaki, Reddit, the First Nation Territories and the unincorporated areas surrounding Lake of the Woods. The Foundation builds permanently endowed charitable funds for the changing needs and opportunities of the community and provides grants to eligible charitable organizations in the fields of' arts and culture, health and wellness, the environment, social welfare and the community fund.
