New Swim Test Process

The safety and well-being of all of our students is vitally important to us. With the amount of lakes, rivers and access to water in Northwestern Ontario, the Kenora Catholic District School Board has made a strong commitment to providing children with the lifesaving skills of swimming lessons. For over 30 years, we have offered certified, Red Cross swimming lessons to students in Kindergarten through to Grade 6.

Beginning in 2018, the Kenora Catholic District School will be implementing a Swim Test as part of our Safe Schools procedures.

The Swim Test will be administered to students who will be participating in field trips involving swimming or water to ensure every student has a safe level of swimming skill proficiency before participating in the field trip. Learn more about this new process by reading Administrative Procedure 335 Safe Schools - Field Trips Involving Swimming or Water and Swim Tests.

If you have any questions about the Swim Test process please do not hesitate to contact your school principal.
