Kenora Catholic Joins in Unity to Pray for Those Impacted by Humboldt Broncos Tragedy
The Humboldt Broncos tragedy has resonated with us as a school system and we are deeply saddened and reeling from the tragic accident that took the lives of 15 people on Friday, April 6th. During this time of sadness please know that God is always present and suffering with us. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and all those who have been impacted by this tragedy.
Our entire school system will be joining together in unity and prayer on Thursday, April 12th to pray for the Humboldt Broncos, their families and the community. During the morning announcements there will be a special time allocated for a prayer of intention and quiet reflection.
On Thursday, our staff and students are asked to wear a sports jersey or the colour green as we continue to pray for those impacted by the tragedy.
Early this morning our Mental Health Team deployed additional support and services to our schools to ensure that our staff and students are well supported in dealing with this sad news. Over the coming days, our Mental Health Team will be working closely with our schools to monitor our staff and students to ensure that everyone is receiving the support they need to deal and process the emotions associated with news of the Humboldt Broncos tragedy.
