Laura McNulty and studentOn Thursday mornings, parent, Kim Elke, has been offering introductory piano lessons to a handful of students at École Ste-Marguerite Bourgeoys. She started offering the lessons last school year and is continuing the volunteer lessons this year too.

"The lessons are designed to be light and fun and build on the interests and curiosities of students," says Elke. "I enjoy giving the lessons because I believe it's important to help nurture the natural talents and musical abilities of children."

Grade 3 student Laura McNulty talks about the lessons. "I just started taking the lessons. It's fun to learn to play the piano."

Volunteers make a significant contribution to their school communities all across the Kenora Catholic District School Board. Thank you to volunteers, like Kim, who share their gifts and talents in their school communities.
