The Director's Student Advisory Council was called to the boardroom table on April 18th. The students were invited to share feedback on the changes they have seen in their schools this year. The students were also part of the Institute for Catholic Education's - Renewing the Promise consultation to help make the Catholic Education System even better.

Phyllis Eikre, Director of Education, talks about the important role this council plays.

"This council is representing students not only in their schools but also across the province. Their voices will be part of a provincial consultation. They are helping shape the Catholic education system for future generations of students. Their thoughts and their voices will be shared with the Institute for Catholic Education."

Ashlan Adams a grade 12 student from St. Thomas Aquinas High School said the experience was positive. "Overall, being on the Director's Student Advisory Council was a positive experience. I would recommend it to other students. It is a big weight on our shoulders, but we know our voices are being heard."

In his interview, Miguel Decosta, a grade 6 student from St. Louis School said he was excited to be chosen for the Director's Student Advisory Council. He also shared that he'd like to see Kindergarten students play a lead role in his school's prayer services.
