The English River Miners were amateur chefs, whisking up eggy, milky, pancake treats for the students and staff at SJS. Why? It is Shrove Tuesday also known as Pancake Tuesday. Pancakes are traditionally eaten on the day before Ash Wednesday, before the fasting season of the 40 days of Lent. Many people eat plainer food and refrain from "pleasurable" foods such as meat, dairy and eggs. People "give something up" during Lent as a way to prepare for Easter. Shrove Tuesday was another awesome day at SJS, indulging and celebrating with the English River Miner players!
