On June 7th St. Thomas Aquinas High School recognized their student athletes in the 2016 Athletic Banquet. Krista Robertson and Eric Sundmark were chosen as the senior athletes of the year for the Saints.
One of the highlights at the event was keynote speaker Jill Officer a Canadian Curler, World Champion and Gold Medalist.
Superintendent Mary Cunningham was at the event and shared her thoughts. "Jill's talk was amazing. She spoke about how important it is to savor every moment and to be present. She shared examples from her time at the Olympics and being on the podium. Jill spoke about allowing herself to be present in the moment and take it all in. She also talked about how important words of encouragement are. Whether you are giving them or receiving them. Every kind word can make a difference. Jill's talk was very impactful for our student athletes."
