On Thursday, May 26th the Kenora Catholic District School Board hosted the Year End Celebration at the Clarion Lakeside Inn and Conference Center to celebrate all the retirees, service award recipients and staff that have made extraordinary contributions to the board throughout the school year.

Every year the KCDSB celebrates our school year and system staff with Director's Awards of Excellence in Leadership and in Catholic Education as well as FISH Philosophy Awards.

Leadership Award

The Leadership Award is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated leadership skills by taking on initiatives, programs or events that have led to significant improvement for the Kenora Catholic District School Board. These individuals demonstrate leadership skills that have led to significant improvement for the Kenora Catholic District School Board and brings benefit directly or indirectly to students. The board will be providing 2 Leadership Awards this year. One for a Support Staff and one for a Teaching Staff. The Teaching Staff category includes principals, coordinators and of course teachers. Anyone system wide can nominate a colleague for this award and you are encouraged to do so.

Excellence Award in Catholic Education

The Excellence in Catholic Education Award is awarded to individuals who really make a difference for students and everyone around them. These individuals work above and beyond their regular role and duties consistently and their work leads to significant improvement of the system and brings benefit directly or indirectly to students. The board will be providing 2 Excellence in Catholic Education Awards this year. One for a Support Staff and one for a Teaching Staff. The Teaching Staff category includes coordinators, principals and of course teachers. Anyone system wide can nominate a colleague for this award and you are encouraged to do so.

FISH Awards

FISH Awards are presented to individuals who demonstrate the 'FISH Philosophy' while contributing to our School System. The FISH Philosophy is a life-long learning approach that inspires us to feel alive and engaged in the work we do. There are four simple but powerful practices that are the foundation of the FISH Philosophy:
