Today (June 25th) the Kenora Catholic District School Board is announcing the launch of St. John School’s Leader in Me Lighthouse video. After a full day of filming in May, St. John school’s video is available to watch. The video is approximately 4 minutes in length and includes interviews with students, teachers and administration.

The video was created to recognize and celebrate St. John School achieving the Franklin Covey Company Leader in Me Lighthouse milestone on April 16, 2015 for a well-rounded leadership model. The video showcases the transformation the school community went through on their Leader in Me journey and captures the pride and accomplishment of staff and students. This pride is evident when you watch the clips of the students, particularly when student Evan Martin talks about how he’s been able to go from being a milk helper last year to being a milk master this year in one of his leadership roles at St. John School.

“Every single student and every single staff member is a true leader at St. John School. They have found the very best in every single student and created leadership out of those skills that the kids have,” says Phyllis Eikre, Director of Education in the video.

At the time this video was produced St. John School was 1 of only 9 schools in Canada and 1 of 124 in the world to achieve this recognition from the Franklin Covey Company.
