Track and Field

A Saints athlete jumps as far as he can while competing in the running long jump.

At Kenora Catholic there are three big track and field meets that take place at the end of the school year. Students in Grades 4, 5 and 6 under the KCDSB compete against each other and students from KPDSB elementary schools at a meet in late June. This is quickly followed by Grade 7 and 8 St. Thomas Aquinas athletes competing against Beaver Brae.

In 2018, Kenora Catholic held the first Kindertrack meet. All Kindergarten students gathered at St. Thomas Aquinas High School to participate in modified track and field events. They compete in events like the 80m instead of 800m, throwing a pool noodle instead of a javelin, and the low jump in place of the high jump. The event is a great way to bring together students from across Kenora for a fun and active day out in the sun.
