Retreats

Kenora Catholic is happy to offer special retreats for students as they make their journey through our schools. In June all Grade 6 students in our elementary schools come together for a three-day outdoor education retreat. The retreat is designed to support students in their transition into Grade 7. Students get to experience nature and physical activity through swimming, archery, canoeing and rock climbing. It is also an excellent opportunity for them to create lasting relationships with the youth they will soon call their peers at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. The retreat takes place in June at B'Nai Brith Camp on Lake of the Woods. A similar retreat is also offered to all Grade 7 students.

Another retreat is offered to Grade 12 students and is a rite of passage for students at St. Thomas Aquinas High School as they get ready to graduate and move on to the workforce, college, university, the trades or other pursuits. Each May, grade 12 students enjoy a full day retreat to reflect on and celebrate their Catholic education. This is also a time for them to make more great memories with their friends, who they've spent the last four years with, before they move on to the next stage of their lives. The retreat takes place at Luther Village in Ontario.
