On November 27, the Kenora Catholic District School Board was privileged to have the renowned hip-hop artist, Connor Flanagan, lead a captivating session during our Professional Development Day. With a unique blend of songs and personal anecdotes, Connor skillfully guided our staff through an exploration of diverse pathways, encouraging us all to let God's light illuminate our lives. His inspirational approach, coupled with the personal stories shared, created a transformative space for reflection and growth. Connor's commitment to fostering a celebration of faith at various stages of our individual journeys left an indelible impact on our community, inspiring a collective sense of gratitude and spiritual exploration.

Another significant contributor to our enriching day was Kevin Lamoureux, a distinguished faculty member at the University of Winnipeg and an esteemed public speaker. With an impressive background as Associate Vice President for the University, Education Lead for the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation, and Scholar in Residence for various school divisions, Kevin brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to his session. His commitment to reconciliation and his insights into the impact of trauma on students, coupled with the vital role each of us plays in the truth and reconciliation journey, left an indelible mark on our staff. The lasting impacts of Kevin's session have prompted numerous requests for further learning opportunities with him.
