(December 7, 2016) Natural Pod recently featured an article about the flexible, dynamic learning environment Megan Baker has created in her Grade 1/2 classroom at École Ste-Marguerite Bourgeoys. The article features colorful pictures of the classroom, showcasing how students can take charge of their learning and arrange themselves in their classroom environment.
In the article Baker says that, by allowing children to take the initiative and choose where they are most comfortable working, they develop skills such as independence, confidence and self-reliance.
This classroom is one example of numerous classrooms within the board that have been re-envisioned using thoughtfully arranged furniture that supports student learning and creativity.
