The Catholic Parent Involvement Committee (CPIC) is a group of parents, trustees and Board staff who actively support parent engagement and involvement throughout the Kenora Catholic District School Board. CPIC is regulated by Regulation 330/10 Under the Education Act.
Our CPIC provides regular opportunities for School Council members to network, share ideas, and offer input and receive informative presentations on a number of education-related topics throughout the school year. CPIC supports parent engagement by providing support on a system-wide basis and promoting dialogue between Catholic School Councils, The Board and members of the community.
Parents and guardians play an important role in the success of their children in school. Studies show that student achievement improves when parents play an active role in their children’s education and that good schools become even better schools when parents are involved. The Kenora Catholic District School Board is proud of the collaborative relationship it has with the parents on our Catholic Parent Involvement Committee (CPIC), and our School Councils, as partners in their children’s education.
The Catholic Parent Involvement Committee recognizes that there are goals inherent with the Board’s 2020 – 2025 Strategic Plan – Growing, Investing and Engaging:
- To grow parent engagement and involvement in the Catholic education process.
- To invest in our children’s education and our school community.
- To engage with other parents and serve as a vital link between our school communities.
