Gift BooksThe Kenora Catholic District School Board recently gifted over 50 new Scholastic books to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Pediatrics Ward. The books are suitable for a variety of age groups and interests and were gifted to make a child's visit to the hospital a bit more comfortable.

"We put a message in all of the books that we're gifting to the hospital. It says 'Reading gives us a place to go when we have to stay where we are,'" says Tammy Bush, Learning Coordinator and Early Years Lead. "We feel like even when you're maybe not in the happiest of circumstances because you're staying in the hospital, at least you can go visit other places in your imagination as you curl up with your parents and read a book."

The KCDSB is proud to be partnering with the Lake of the Woods District Hospital on a baby book project and as well as an artwork mural.
