St. Louis School is basking in the glow of their newest musical production - Disney's The Lion King Kids. It was a huge success with makeup and costumes worthy of a Broadway performance. The performances took place over April 13 - 14th after many months of preparation that started in November.

Director, Darren Benson talks about the significance of the play "when deciding on which play to perform, the choice was clear, "The Lion King" is such a great story about family, just like our St. Louis family. It is a tale of loss, mirroring our own loss of Havoc (St. Louis School's Therapy Dog) this year. It is about rising up to reveal our inner strength. The students have amazed us with their performances. Many of them have come to life on the stage as we never could have imagined. Theatre is about imagination and taking the audience to a different world to forget about our own troubles just for a moment." Large scale musical productions are a long standing tradition and trademark of excellence at St. Louis School. Every second year the entire school community is involved in one capacity or another in preparing for a musical production. Generally, there is a role for each student. It's a true community event from costume design and sewing, makeup, set design, singing and so much more. These productions are a testament to excellence in Catholic Education.
