The energy level was set on super high yesterday at Pope John Paul II School's Cake Walk! The Cake Walk is such a popular and exciting fundraising event that the school has been abuzz with students talking about the Cake Walk all week.

"We've been doing the Cake Walk for quite a few years," says Teacher Anissa Fraser. "The kids just get so excited because it's a lot of fun and everyone hopes their number is chosen to win a cake to take home."

Mrs. Anissa Fraser's Grade 5 class hosted the Cake Walk to raise money for their upcoming trip to Festival du Voyageur. 40 cakes were baked and donated by families and 230 students participated in the event. For $2.00 students were able to enter the event for their chance to win a cake of their own. Students danced and rocked out in the gym with their friends and teachers as they listened and hoped their lucky number would be called when the music stopped.

Over $400 was raised for the trip. A special thank you to all the families that donated a baked cake for the event.

Take a moment to watch this video and you'll have a sense of just how much fun the Cake Walk is:

The best part of the cake walk is the dance party in the gym. At this Cake Walk there were 230 students from various grades all dancing together in the gym to their favorite dance music.
