St. Louis School has been identified as a priority in the Kenora Catholic District School Board's Capital Plan. The school is slated to have over $2 million in capital improvements over the next three years.

The Capital Plan lists 16 projects for St. Louis School ranging from a new roof, interior flooring replacement, exterior windows and doors and playground redevelopment.

"Although many of these enhancements are not visible they are necessary," says Andrew Poirier Manager of Operational Services. "Investments in our school's infrastructure are an important factor in overall student achievement and well-being. When our schools are well maintained they are safer, more energy efficient and provide a comfortable environment for student learning."

In addition to capital improvements, the school is also targeted to receive improvements to their broadband capacity. Craig Debbo, Manager of Information Technology Services, talks about the enhancements. "We are replacing the telephone system, upgrading the school's Wi-Fi network and adding significant capacity to our Internet link. The first two items are performed as regular periodic upgrades while the last item is part of a Ministry of Education initiative to increase broadband capacity to all students across Ontario."

In 2015, St. Louis School received recognition from the Ministry of Education for the school's Experiential Learning Project. The project was student-driven and resulted in the creation of an outdoor learning space and pods. The board will continue to explore enhancements to the school's playground in partnership with the School Council.
