KCDSB Releases New Video Entitled 'How to Grow Graduates - It All Begins in Kindergarten'
On January 11th the KCDSB team had a very exciting day. The team hosted an exclusive première viewing of the board's new video entitled 'How to Grow Graduates: It All Begins in Kindergarten' to a room crowded with students, parents, KCDSB staff members and members of the media. Many students who were profiled in the video attended the première with their parents and watched the video for the first time together. The reaction of the students was priceless. There was a lot of laughter and excitement in the room as well as a few tears during the première.
It was important to the board to create a video that stepped away from 'selling' programs and services and focused on celebrating the experience of Kindergarten through the eyes of many different people. The video is completely unscripted and showcases authentic student voice, friendships and lessons learned in Kindergarten.
Over 70 interviews were conducted in the creation of this video. A very special thank you to everyone who participated in this process. A very special thank you to Matt Kennedy and the Overdrive Design Lab team for their creativity and vision in the making of this video.
