Spiritual Development Day

The KCDSB recently had a host of amazing keynote speakers on Spiritual Development Day, on October 30th.

Sister Angela Zukowski, MHSH spent the professional development day with all Kenora staff. She talked about Seven Habits of Navigating through the Cyber Sea and the contribution of Catholic education in the cyber sea. As well as how Pope Francis calls on all of us to be the Imaginers of faith in a digital world to bring forth the hidden energy of the Good News.

Meanwhile at St. John School in Red Lake the school community had Rev. Jack Lynch, SFM as their keynote speaker. His presentation was entitled: Catholic Education: A Call to Mission.

"Coming together to nurture our spirits and our minds on Spiritual Development day is a long standing practice of our board," says Phyllis Eikre Director of Education. "We are blessed to have this opportunity to renew, refocus and replenish so we can go into our schools and back to our roles and really bring our focus back to what is really important - our faith values."

Sister Anne Zukowski, MHSH is a sister of the Mission Helpers of the Sacred Heart, the Director of the Institute for Pastoral Initiatives and professor in the Department of Religious Studies of the University of Dayton.

Father Jack Lynch is from Mississauga, Ontario. He was ordained a priest for the Scarboro Foreign Missions and has served with many dioceses and school boards as well as in many different ministries. He served in the barrios of Lima, Peru; as the former General Superior of his order. He also came to direct the KCDSB's system retreat in 2011.
