Goo Crew Helps the Cat

They sold 155, $2.00 bags of goo to raise money for the cat shelter. The whole school quickly got on board, the orders flowed in and soon the crew was making goo in every available moment. In the end $306 was donated by the girls to the Cat Shelter.

Hailey Biggs talks about why they started their enterprise. "We decided to make goo and sell it because Avril's cat went missing and we wanted to help other cats who need to find a new home."

Students hold kittens at cat shelter "The students approached me at the beginning of the school year and told me what they wanted to do," says Principal Trudy Cederwall. "This is a completely student-led initiative and I'm really proud of how hard they worked and how much money they raised for the Cat Shelter. Today I've taken the girls to the Cat Shelter so they can meet Celynn (Cat Shelter Lead), meet the cats and kittens and see how much their money is needed."

After meeting Celynn and the cats, this is what Hailey had to say. "Our money is going to really help. I had no idea there were so many cats in the shelter and some of the older cats end up living here for years in their crates waiting for a new home," says Biggs. "I wish more people would adopt a cat and give it a forever home. I'm so glad we are able to help. We are already thinking about what we can do next."
