ConstructionStudents at École Ste-Marguerite Bourgeoys are excited about their new outdoor, In the Round Yoga Studio.

Students in Jodi Fenelon's grade 4/5 class have been involved in the project since last October.

"The students have been working on the project all winter," says Jodi Fenelon, Teacher. "It's nice to see it finally being built. Gerard Dufresne, Facilities Supervisor, came to our class to show the students the blueprints and teach them how to do the measurements. The students have planned the studio mathematically and worked all year with geometry and math skills on this project. They've been involved in the costing and estimating, and now they are helping some of our volunteer fathers build the design."

Three fathers of students at École Ste-Marguerite Bourgeoys, Michael Penner, Bruce Anderson and Maxwell Brown, volunteered their carpentry services to the school to build the yoga studio. Students helped with the construction of the studio.

Grade 5 student Connor talks about the process of designing the yoga studio. "It took us a while to measure all the exact points. It was hard because we had to do a lot of calculations and measure the width and the height. I'm excited to see it finally being built."

The new studio is located at the front of the school and will be used for yoga as well as other cultural events and ceremonies.
