Nathan Bond and Dea Jea LeBlanc are heading to the Ontario Technological Skills Competition in Waterloo next week. The two grade 12 students teamed up to represent St. Thomas Aquinas High School in the TV and Video Production category at the Secondary Qualifier hosted in Thunder Bay earlier in the month where they competed against other secondary students in the region.

Bond talks about the experience, "in the qualifying competition we had to create a 30 second public service announcement for reducing the carbon footprint and we had 4 hours to do it. Basically we took the night before and stayed up until 2:00 a.m. to write the storyboard. It was a lot of fun working with Dea Jea and we are good friends. I did the video and editing he did some editing too and the voice over for the whole project."

LeBlanc talked about the next phase, "I'm really stoked and excited that Nathan and I qualified to move on. I'm looking forward to the next competition."

Bond and Dea Jea are heading to the Ontario Technological Skills Competition on May 2 - 4th to challenge other secondary students across the province in the Ontario Technological Skills Competition. The Ontario Technological Skills Competition (OTSC) is Canada's largest skilled trades competition. With over 67 contests, 2,000 competitors and 20,000 spectators.
