Lucas and Faith

Faith Holmquist a Grade 5 student from Pope John Paul II School and Lucas Pavey, a Grade 6 student from Ecole Ste-Marguerite Bourgeoys were at the Q104 station today chatting with our good friend, Ken O'Neil, about Kenora Catholic's Community Clean-Up Day happening on Friday, April 20th. You can listen to their interview on Q104 Friday morning.

During the visit with Ken, the students explained that all Kenora Catholic schools are heading out into neighborhoods around their school to do some spring cleaning for Earth Day 2018. Students and staff will be picking up litter to help make Kenora and Keewatin sparkle in preparation for summer.

The schools are teaming up with Sierra Construction and Northern Waste and Hauling and the City of Kenora. Sierra Construction and Northern Waste and Hauling is providing a bin and collection services. They will also be weighing the trash at the end of the day to find out how many pounds of garbage students and staff collected. The City of Kenora is waiving the tipping fee, providing clear bags and disposable gloves.

Faith and Lucas are looking forward to finding out how many pounds of litter is clean up on Friday.

Please give our students and staff a friendly wave on Friday and drive with extra caution when they are present in neighborhoods spring cleaning.
