Peaceful, serene and calming are a few of the words that come to mind when you visit St. Louis School's new Mindfulness Corner tucked away in the Learning Commons. Although it's a new feature, the space is already having a positive impact on staff and students.

Charlotte Brown, Learning Commons Assistant, talks about the space. "We wanted to create a space for students to practice being mindful and listening to the sounds of nature. We have an iPod set up with the sounds of nature and rippling water. We are still in the early stages, but we already have quite a few elements in place to support students in practicing their mindfulness."

Learning Resource Teacher, Marnie Buffett and Charlotte Brown teamed up to create the space, after a suggestion from David Jakes, Chief Design Officer of David Jakes Design following his visit to the school last summer.
