Courage the Cardinal Celebrates a Milestone Birthday

Pope John Paul II School and Courage the Cardinal celebrated their 10th Birthday on September 19th with a huge party and Open House Celebration. Hundreds of people attended the celebration, which included decorating a birthday hat, a scavenger hunt, face painting, bubble blowing the gaga ball pit and a photo booth. Courage the Cardinal was on site to cut the commemorative cake.

Vice Principal, Tammy Bush talks about the milestone year, "It is the first big milestone that Pope John Paul II School has been able to celebration. It is exciting because the students who are ten years old now were able to connect to the fact that the school was opened when they were brand new babies. Student Alumni who are now in Grade 9 and were the first Kindergarten students returned to the school and were center leaders during the celebration."

The school community plans to recognize and celebrate the milestone all school year through various activities and events.

Built in 2007, Pope John Paul II School is the newest school for the Kenora Catholic District School Board and celebrates many shared learning opportunities with its neighbouring school École Ste-Marguerite Bourgeoys. Pope John Paul II School is a junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 school located at the heart of the Catholic Campus with a close-knit school community that reflects and celebrates diversity and continues to have a positive impact on children and their families.
