The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization's (UNESCO) World Teachers' Day is celebrated annually on October 5th.

The Kenora Catholic District School Board would like to recognize Catholic teachers with a message to the system recognizing and thanking its more than 100 teachers who carry on the tradition of excellence in Catholic education by supporting students and their families.

"We would like to recognize and thank our teachers for the important work that they do every day in our schools both in the classroom and outside the classroom. We would like to acknowledge the dedication of our teachers", says Frank Bastone, Chair. "We strongly encourage our students and school communities to celebrate our wonderful educators who inspire, mentor and bring joy in learning to our students."

"I would like to thank our outstanding Catholic teachers and all those who support the work of teachers," says Phyllis Eikre, Director of Education. "Our teachers truly make a difference and they are the key to success for our students. They are integral in creating vibrant, faith-filled school communities and support our students to excel in so many ways."

The Kenora Catholic District School Board serves over 1,500 students in 5 schools located in Kenora and also in Red Lake. The Kenora Catholic District School Board is dedicated to excellence in Catholic education.
