The Board Announces New Principal of St. Thomas Aquinas High School
The Kenora Catholic District School Board is very proud to announce that Michelle Sawa has accepted the position of Principal at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Michelle has been the principal at St. John School in Red Lake since 2012. This new appointment will take effect on August 29, 2016 at the start of the new school year.

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Education from Brandon University with a Gold Medal in Bachelor of Educationand a Government of Manitoba Award.

Under Michelle's leadership St. John School achieved Franklin Covey Leader in Me Lighthouse recognition in 2015 for the attainment of a well-rounded leadership model. At the time there were only 8 other schools in Canada to achieve this level of recognition.

In 2014 Michelle was invited to the Sutton-Gates Teacher Development Summit hosted by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Michelle was 1 of 5 educators invited from Canada.

In 2013 Michelle was awarded the Director's Award of Excellence for Leadership in Catholic Education.
