Alison Smith

The Kenora Catholic District School Board is very pleased to announce that Alison Smith has been appointed to the position of Superintendent of Business Services. Alison recently completed the Supervisory Officer's Qualification Program. This appointment will be effective January 17, 2017, following the Board of Trustees approving a motion to appoint her to the position at their Regular Board Meeting.

Alison is a grass roots success story. She started with the board in 2010 and has rapidly advanced through the organization. She has held the role of Payroll Clerk, Finance Officer and most recently, she held the role of Manager of Financial Services.

In addition to her experience at the Kenora Catholic District School Board, Alison brings with her several years of experience working in the accounting field. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and is a Certified General Accountant. Alison can now add Supervisory Officer's Qualifications to her list of credentials.

Alison will continue to maintain the responsibilities of overseeing the professional accounting activities in the management, control and reporting of financial affairs for the Board. She will continue to manage resources and activities related to accounts payable and receivable, tax assessments, revenues, internal and external audits and school banking. However, as the Superintendent of Business Services Alison will also be assuming the new responsibilities including strategic planning for all business functions and services within the board and direct supervision of all business related departments including Human Resource Services and Operational Services. Alison's new duties include ensuring the Kenora Catholic District School Board has a detailed budget and managing the board's financial dealings.
