At the December 10th Annual Board Meeting Frank Bastone was acclaimed as Chair. Teresa Gallik was elected as the Vice Chair following a tie vote with Mike Favreau for the position. Bastone is entering his 5th consecutive year as the Chair while Gallik is taking the seat of Vice Chair for the first time since 2008. Click here to read more about the elections.

Each principal within the board brought greetings on behalf of their school for the newly elected Chair and Vice Chair.

Reports

The Trustees approved a motion to accept the 2015 - 2016 Revised Estimates following a presentation from Alison, Smith, Manager of Financial Services. The Board is showing a minor deficit of ($19, 730) due to the OECTA and Provincial settlement of 1 percent lump sum payments to teachers and grid increases that were part of the recent settlement. The Board is compliant with Ministry of Education regulations.

The Trustees accepted a motion to approve a new school logo for St. John School in Red Lake. St. John School continues its evolution after many exciting years of transformation by unveiling a new school logo. Click here to review the logo and learn more.

The trustees reviewed the report on Board Committees and Trustee Twinning as presented.

Next Board Meeting

The next Board Meeting of the Kenora Catholic District School Board is scheduled for Tuesday, January 19th at 7:00 p.m. at the Catholic Education Center. Video Conferencing is available from the annex of St. John School in Red Lake. All are welcome to attend.
