Daily COVID-19 Self-Screening ToolsAs a best practice, in following the Ministry of Education and Northwestern Health Unit’s guidance, Kenora Catholic has implemented a COVID-19 Self-Screening process for staff and students using the Ministry of Education School Screening Tool.

Please click on the link below to access the simple, voluntary screening tool:

Ontario's COVID-19 Online School Screening Tool

The screening tool reflects current provincial health guidance and will be continuously updated should that guidance change.

It is important that we all do everything we can to keep our students and staff safe. Daily self-screening is a key health and safety measure in reducing the spread of COVID-19 in our schools and community.

It is critically important that those who are ill or have symptoms of COVID-19 do not attend school. The purpose of the daily screening tool is to help staff and parents and guardians make the decision about whether or not to attend school each day. If a student or staff member shows signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or has come into close contact with anyone suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19, they cannot come to school. They must self-isolate and be tested for COVID-19.

The Ministry of Education has also released posters that are displayed in all of our schools to help reinforce health and safety measures for students. The posters highlight the importance of staying home if not well, hand hygiene, physical distancing and staying healthy and safe on the school bus

The Kenora Catholic District School Board emails all staff, the online school screening tool daily to support our team in getting in the habit of daily self-screening. More information is available on Ontario.ca/reopening schools.
