The Kenora Catholic District School Board celebrated the 2018 - 2019 School Year last evening at the KCDSB and OECTA Service Awards, and Retirement Celebration held at the Lakeside Inn and Convention Center.
Director of Education, Derek Haime, Superintendents and Trustees presented service awards as well as Director's Awards of Excellence for Leadership and Excellence in Catholic education. The Board also celebrated the many years of dedicated service of the retirees.
The event was the first Service Awards and Retirement Celebration for Director of Education, Derek Haime who, was pleased with the evening.
"I am so privileged and blessed to be the Director of Education for Kenora Catholic and be able to witness and celebrate the vocation and dedication of our KCDSB family," said Haime. "It's an honour to recognize the recipients of service awards and excellence awards who have made extraordinary contributions to faith development, student achievement and their school or workplace locations throughout the year."
Krista Helsel, Manager of Human Resource Services along with Dean Woodbeck, Chaplain presented the FISH Philosophy Awards. The custom of sending plush fish sailing across the room is a fun tradition at Kenora Catholic. The FISH awards are presented to individuals who demonstrate the FISH Philosophy: Be There, Play, Make Their Day and Choose Your Attitude.
