 Board of TrusteesPresentations

Tammy Bush, Learning Coordinator and Early Years Lead provided a presentation on the recent Board Improvement Plan for Student Achievement (BIPSA) day that the board held on September 9th. Bush shared the BIPSA statement for the 2015/16 school year:

IF we focus on increasing student joy and voice, THEN students will experience intellectual engagement, growth and well-being, develop a deeper understanding of their learning and reach for higher student achievement in mind, spirit, heart and body.

Bush also shared that the day was historic for the board because students were included at the planning table sharing their ideas, thinking and reflections. This is the first time the board has had authentic student voice involved in the BIPSA. There were 12 students from the elementary schools and high school who shared their opinions and ideas on what the board should continue doing, stop doing and start doing.

Eric Sundmark a student from St. Thomas Aquinas High School attended the meeting and shared that the day was very valuable and he and Cassie Swejda were able to sit with their teachers and principal and talk and share ideas.
